A flat course, and therefore not very tiring but very technically attractive: narrowness of certain holes, dog-legs, undergrowth etc. You will be accompanied by many admiring witnesses: jays, woodpeckers, hoopoes, squirrels. A golf course suitable for all levels of play, whether for moments of relaxation with friends, personal exploits or competition.
The Luchon golf course is one of the first golf courses created in France after that of Pau (in 1856), Biarritz (in 1888), Cannes Mandelieu (in 1891), Saint-de-Luz (in 1893) and Vichy (in 1908). It was at this time (1908) that Pierre Artigala created the Luchon golf course from scratch, with Ludovic Dardenne, the Marquis de Méranvielle de Saint-Claire, Henry De Gorsse, Baron Charles Fabre de Roussac. The 9-hole course was very frequented by an English clientele who, at the time, were enjoying the heyday of the Pyrenees and, particularly, of Pau, Biarritz and Luchon where they came to take a cure and meet the beau monde of the time, but also and above all to herbalize.
However, Luchon, with its unique geographical location in the center of nine valleys, oriented differently, welcomes a variety of incomparable flowers. The Val d'Esquerry, botanical garden of the Pyrenees, is the most convincing image. In 1929, a new committee composed of Mr. Siégel, Maître Rémy Comet, Mr. Rivals, Doctor Gazal Gamelsy improved the course and the greens; the improvement was noticeable and the golf course was already very busy. On December 9, 1930, Maître Comet established the statutes of a Limited Company with a capital of 278,000 F called “Société du Golf et du Tennis de Luchon”. The public was informed of this by the local newspaper of the time "L'avenir de Luchon" in its sheet of Sunday January 11, 1931.

On the idea of René Ancelle, it was designed by Alain Tignol and Gilbert Michaud and created by Adrien Tignol.
